Technical Designer - Product Developer
FWD Studio is an established fashion design and product development studio in the centre of Barcelona working with key international brands and retailers from all over the world.
Our company is growing and we are seeking to expand our international team with ambitious graduates and senior managers in the areas of design, production management, and textiles sourcing and development.
As a product developer / technical designer you act as a bridge between our creative design team and our commercial team.
You are primarily responsible for the technical execution of our designs and also for the total follow-up of clients' garment sampling.
You will be attending client meetings and use both creative as well as technical skills to ensure the best sampling results and execution of all our designs and client developments.
Concrete responsibilities include:
-- Quick response designs initiated by the commercial team and Director
-- Developing the Technical Files and size specs for designs created by our creative design team
-- Making sure that clients' developments are executed based on the highest standards for design and workmanship whilst supporting factories with the most efficient execution
-- Following-up on all aspects of clients' sampling and supporting the commercial team with garment technical issues
-- Leading client development meetings together with commercial and/or creative designers and visiting sample rooms to check on sampling status and improving them on the spot
The ideal candidate is a designer with strong follow-up skills who is interested in ‘’Product Development’’ especially outerwear, tailoring and light wovens
Alternatively, we also welcome applications from technical designers with a ''garment technician'' background, yet with a well-developed fashion sensitivity and creative flair.

+ Strong Fashion sensitity combined with technical expertise in outerwear, light wovens and tailoring
+ The applicant must understand patterns and sewing
+ University degree in design or garment technician
+ Well developed Photoshop and Illustrator skills
+ Proficiency in English (Spanish is not a must but strongly preferred). English is required to attend meetings with international clients all over the world
+ Able to travel independently to visit sample rooms and factories
