Stellenbeschreibung

The Director Brand Finance - Strategy and Innovation acts as a financial advisor and business partner to SVP Strategy & Innovation of brand adidas by giving recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making.
The position holder will be the key financial counterpart to the Brand Strategy and Innovation teams, developing hypothesis and concepts, including the derivation of metrics dashboards to measure and drive performance and operational behavior for successful execution of the brand strategy and the brand adidas innovation portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage ad-hoc/scenario analysis and/or business cases for decision making within Brand Strategy and Innovation team.
- Ensure financial guidelines are respected and identify critical processes and solutions that need to be developed
- Develop and establish metrics to track, measure and drive the success of different strategic and innovation projects within Brand Strategy and Innovation based on company-wide performance management dimensions
- Lead financial support of strategic cycle process together with Brand Strategy / Consumer Insights and Strategic Direction team providing input on business opportunities and risks
- Together with VP Strategy / Innovation and teams, co-create a life-cycle model and KPI framework for the Brand adidas Innovation portfolio
- Create transparency of the Brand adidas innovation portfolio (technological innovations, business model innovations, etc.)
- Develop a KPI framework to measure the success of Brand adidas innovations
- Develop business case standards
- Measure and track initiatives along their lifecycle and provide fact-based recommendation at key decision milestones
- Collaborate with Brand Strategy / Sustainability team to drive activities supporting company's strategic ambition by creating transparency on the required investments, target setting and achievement
- Collaborate with Digital Brand Solutions team to enable operational excellence of BUs, in particular provide financial support for Digital E2E Creation project
- In collaboration with other Brand Finance BU leads drive planning and reporting activities related to Women's as a strategic priority
- Collaborate with the SVP Brand Strategy and Innovation and teams on the creation of Board presentations to drive key project approvals, including cross functional coordination across teams such as DBC, BUs, Corporate Strategy, Brand & Sales Finance
- Provide guidance and delivery from financial perspective for Brand Strategy and Innovation projects and ensure the above projects are operating within adidas Group policies and guidelines and legal framework
- Manage and develop team members and set environment for successful performance across locations
- Develop functional, technical and soft skills within the team (esp. provide guidance and leadership to direct reports, interns, trainees, etc.)

Profil

- Passion for sporting goods and lifestyle industry and ability to understand and think this industry in strategic terms (C-level perspective)
- High level of curiosity and interest in working in entrepreneurial environment and creating new methods, tools and processes
- Excellent numerical and corporate finance skills, an understanding of financial statements and capital markets and solid familiarity with legal investment agreements
- Strong facility with numbers and grip on strategic and financial fundamentals (e.g. how to construct a basic financial model, scenarios etc.)
- Tech and digital savviness as well as background knowledge of innovation management
- Outstanding presentation skills and ability to maneuver in consistently changing and fast paced environments
- Proven ability to lead, influence and motivate others beyond own area of direct responsibility to achieve results within wider organization
- Ability to work well under pressure and act in utmost confidentiality with sensitive information
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for persuasion and convincing others both internally and externally
- Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office solutions - in particular Excel and PowerPoint;
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree or qualification in finance, business administration or commercial law (if possible with focus on corporate finance or investment banking), MBA a plus
- 8+ years of work experience in corporate finance/private equity and/or venture capital at a multi-national firm
- 3+ years in people management role
- Preferably with experience within the consumer goods, retail or sporting goods industry or at investment firms with a focus on the fast-moving consumer goods sector
