Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The direct-to-consumer (DTC) business is a top company priority at adidas and pivotal in driving consumer engagement, growth and profitability.
To ensure sustainable and profitable growth of our DTC business, the Sales Finance Team acts as a business partner and financial advisor to the global sales leadership team.
As Director Sales Finance - Retail you will play a key role in this team by co-piloting with the global retail leadership team in shaping and executing the global retail strategy. You will constantly challenge, drive growth and profitability opportunities across the retail business. You will work in a fast-paced, highly visible environment as the central point of contact for retail finance at adidas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the SVP Global Retail and the Retail Leadership Team in:
- shaping and executing the global retail strategy
- setting short- and long-term financial targets
- driving key initiatives to improve (financial) performance of the retail business
- Influence key decisions impacting growth and profitability of the retail business by:
- creating transparency on the retail channel performance: connecting P&L, operational drivers and store portfolio
- Identifying opportunities and risks
- providing recommendations based on comprehensive analysis and strong synthesis of results
- Lead the financial control and performance of world-wide retail channel activities in line with the Global DTC Strategy to ensure financial targets are met in the short- and long-term
- Drive the store portfolio review process with a strategic view on store investments and divestments
- Define new controlling concepts, processes and KPIs (financial/non-financial) for retail and drive world-wide implementation
- Continuously improve current controlling frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Drive transparency and speed of business analysis ensuring relevant, accurate and standardized analysis
- Acts as a facilitator between Global and Market Retail across business and finance
- Lead the team and create an environment which enables team members to grow and to perform at their best

- Ability to coach, guide, manage, and develop a team
- Outstanding analytical skills and ability to synthesize large amount of information
- Excellent facility with numbers and financial concepts
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business acumen including deep knowledge of the retail business
- Strong strategic thinking with a bias for execution
- Ability to operate in a constantly changing environment and to prioritize accordingly
- High degree of stakeholder orientation, results-driven and pro-active
- Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
- Fluency in English
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor/master's degree in Business Administration/Finance/Controlling
- 8+ of professional experience in Finance and/or Retail
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Experience in a DTC and FMCG business preferred
