The vast majority of consumer journeys start online - they like to browse, research and compare products, even if they intend to buy in-store. The way consumers shop is reshaping the marketplace. As a result, many of our wholesale accounts (partners) are going through their own digital transformations. They are investing in how they reach the consumer online, whilst a new breed of accounts in the form of pure players and eMarketplaces have emerged in our digital ecosystem with new business models to service and sell to our consumers. At adidas, we are redefining our digital presence in a way that will push the future of digital and create premium experiences across all our consumer touchpoints to drive brand desirability, engagement and sales for our brands. The Digital Partner Commerce (DPC) team is driving this evolution in digital wholesale and through new business models across our worldwide organization.
As Manager Business Development responsible for Digital Growth Planning, you will help to shape the adidas digital sales strategy and business development opportunities. You will support in identifying new and emerging retailers and business models, market and consumer trends, and digital growth opportunities. You will be responsible for improving our understanding of ecosystem interdependencies and how consumers shop and how digital channels interact. Success will be supplying the adidas organization with most recent insights on consumer and industry trends, supported by thorough quantitative analysis and "ready to act on" recommendations to exploit the opportunities.
- Monitor developments in the eCommerce landscape to identify new and emerging business models, digital trends and developments, and competitor strategic moves in the digital marketplace
- Gain an improved understanding of ecosystem interdependencies and how consumers shop and how digital channels interact to ensure "all boats rise" e.g. consumers shop channel first, marketing impact across the ecosystem
- Gain deeper insights on the digital consumer, by understanding who is shopping where, and what the consumer needs and values are in each digital channel and by accountPerform shopper intelligence research and analysis (e.g., path-to-purchase, buying behaviors) across the channel to inform improved segmentation of accounts
- In close collaboration with departments responsible for financial reporting and market intelligence update the financial growth models to inform strategic business planning
- Responsible for the development and on-going improvement of data-driven methodologies and tools used to map and inform distribution decisions online such as approvals, categorization, and prioritization of accounts
- Provide quantitative foundation for all Global Business Development activities (e.g., supply insights for Business Model Development (M2) looking to exploit new biz models)
- Feed insights into Program Management Transformation role (M3) for communications to broader sales organization
- Proficiency in modeling, analyzing and presenting large quantities of complex data and summarize findings in a clear format
- A self-starter who is passionate about uncovering leads, qualifying business opportunities and insights
- Contribute to several projects simultaneously, delivering against agreed deadlines
- Combine creative and pragmatic use of insight and data with attention to detail
- Work independently and collaborate with multiple departments; develop a network
- Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, smartsheet)
- Fluent English both verbally and written
- University degree in the field of Business, Marketing or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional experience, 2+ years in E-Commerce, experience in sportswear industry is a plus
- 2-3 years of experience in an analytical role
